2015 GUILDS

Backyard Beekeeping: This new guild is going to cover the ins and outs of keeping bees. It will meet monthly and cover various topics. Back yard bee keeping seems to be growing in popularity throughout the world, especially with the many problems occurring with hive die off. The next meeting is April 21 at 6:30pm

Hearth Cooking Guild: Our cooks meet every Friday in January, February, and March. The guild selects historic recipes and cooks them over our historic hearth in the Patterson Inn. One of the best perks about this is after slaving over a hot hearth- we then enjoy a delicious lunch!

Quilting Guild: Meets monthly. This guild works on various projects to sell and raffle for the museum. Many different quilting patterns are explored. Next meeting is March 30 at 10:15am

Sewing Guild: We will work on various projects for the museum, for example: historic children's outfits for children to try on throughout the museum grounds. Next meeting is March 9.

Blacksmithing Guild: Meetings will begin late March 2015 as weather permits. Two, fee based, introductory classes or a predetermined level of competency is required before joining the blacksmith guild. (classes are scheduled from April 1st to November 15th). We will be working on various projects from beginner through intermediate levels.

Woodworking/Joinery:  Our new joiner's shop is the perfect atmosphere for creating traditional items using antique tools and early 19th century methods.

Heirloom Gardening: We have a beautiful heirloom kitchen garden and herb garden at the Patterson Inn Museum. We will be meeting in the spring to discuss how the group will work throughout the growing season. The first meeting will be March 5 at 10:15am.

If any of these guilds are of interest to you or someone you know please call the office, 607-937-5281 and leave your name, phone number, and email (if you have one) and we will contact you with more information.
